Painting
His Love of the West
The
focus of Griggs' work is his love of the
West. His paintings and drawings honor
the mountains, plains, animals of the
west, the Native
Americans whose ancestors called it their
home and the
cowboys who explored and settled in this
beautiful country. The
focal point of several of his paintings is a
single cowboy simply conducting
"cowboy" work. The artist enjoys
rich, earthy hues that remain true to nature
and the time of day. He has a knack of
capturing the moment in his subject's life
and in the process of bringing it to canvas or
paper one feels the empathy and emotion
in his work.
